On September 28 Kids Bike Lane partnered with First Presbyterian Church, Livermore, to host a Free Bike Repair Clinic at Jackson Avenue School. We serviced more than 80 bikes, gave away a dozen refurbished bikes to kids whose bikes couldn’t be repaired, and gave over 20 new helmets to kids who didn’t have one.
A few ways lives are impacted: One high schooler arrived on a bike he had clearly outgrown and chose a refurbished adult bike and left for home with a hearty “Thank you” and a big smile on his face. One family had all of their bikes tuned up and as they rode away we were told that the bikes are their only means of transportation.
