Refurbishing Bicycles

Throughout the year we receive used bikes of all sizes from families that have outgrown their bikes and from local bike shops. These bikes are refurbished by our expert bike mechanics and then given to local charities. Children’s and youth bikes are given to students recommended by local school case workers and other agencies. Adult bikes are given to the Livermore homeless refuge and to a charity serving refugees. And, when we learned of a need in a community after a disaster, such as families’ basement level apartments/homes being flooded in Oakland during the January rains to which Kids Bike Lane responded by donating ten refurbished bikes.
